Beurre D Isigny

Beurre d'Isigny is an appellation d'origine contrôlée butter largely produced in the regional natural park of the Marais du Cotentin. The excellent quality of this butter results from the natural landscape of the area; rich pastureland with salt marsh to produce the salt - and in earlier times, the means of transportation of the finished product. The "Isigny" of the name is Isigny sur Mer, a small port served by the Vire river.
