Jumieges Abbey, west of Rouen, was founded in the 7th century, burnt in the 9th century by the Vikings, rebuilt in the 11th century and finally partly demolished under the French Revolution.

Now left to decay in peace, the ruins give an idea of the glory that once rose on this spot on the banks of the river Seine. You can even take a horse ride along the river to get a unique view of the remains.
